Igniting Young Hearts

Helping each student develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is at the heart of a St. Thomas education. In addition to the specific grade level religious education in the classroom, each teacher seeks to challenge the students every day to be “the face of Christ” to those around them. We are blessed to have the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, as members of teaching staff and community. The Sisters’ presence is a visible witness to God’s grace in our lives, and the joy of the vocation of consecrated life. The presence of the lay teachers, parent volunteers, the daily readings also illustrates God’s grace in our lives.

Our Catholic Identity at Saint Thomas is evident in the fact that every school day begins and ends with a school-wide prayer. There are weekly school Masses and each class has the opportunity to plan and participate in at least one Mass per school year. Celebrations also play an important role in our community.

Regular school prayer, dedicated activities around special celebrations and feast days throughout the liturgical year, singing in the choir, and participating in other faith-focused activities provide further opportunities to bring their faith to life.
